The Kunstmuseum is housed in the former residence of Baron Josef von Ritter-Zincken. The museum is home to an extensive collection of paintings from 18th century German artists including Adolph Menzel, Max Liebermann and Karl Friedrich Lessing. Unterseen

Beromünster Village
Along the border with the canton of Basel-Landschaft, you’ll find Beromünster, which lies about five kilometers from where the Emme river and its tributary Zihl flow into the Aare. One of Beromünster’s attractions is its parish church, which was built between 1225 and 1230. The building is constructed like a fortified house to withstand Ottoman invasions. It still boasts evidence of this during Mass today.
